New Works
As the Ghost Town Series evolves, images are becomming more abstracted, and some shapes and compositions from earlier works are beginning to reappear and merge with the houses, birds and ambigious circles that were dominate shapes in the 2005 abstract paintings. This current work includes color compostional studies on paper that are the foundation for larger oil paintings on canvas. I'm pushing further into describing visually the densly packed, illuminated atmosphere I want to create on the picture plane.
Ghost Town
They 2007 Ghost Town painting evolved from concerns about the earth and how climate changes will impact us and our progeny in this new century.

Selected Past Work

Before 2007 I explored nature and portraiture while studying the modern color palette. Through abstracted imagery and altered realism I was seeking a way to express my observations about the passage of time and how this reality colors out existence.
